JenRus Freelance began in 2008 when Jenny Russell saw that rural communities and small organizations needed marketing support that fit their reality. She built the business in Courtland, Kansas, with the goal of offering clear, practical marketing that works for any size budget.
Over time, the work expanded beyond economic development. Today, we operate as a full marketing agency called JenRus Marketing.

Everything we do is guided by our values. Paying attention to the little things matters because that’s how your work becomes remembered. It shapes the experience for your audience, sets the tone for your brand, and carries through everything you do.
And through it all, we aim to lift the standard of what marketing can be for you.
We focus on work that truly matters
We notice the little things that make a difference
We adapt to what each client needs
We care deeply about every project
We stay curious and open to new challenges
We aim to raise the bar with heart
